Welcome to Samuel Hodder Photography
Lake Tyers
Lake Tyers is an idyllic slice of rural Gippsland, about four hours' drive east of Melbourne. It is only separated from the sea by a slim sliver of sandbanks and the ocean sometimes breaks through. We stayed at friend's lake house, which was once a small hotel, and reached the beach by wading through colourful flooded marshland. The house was surrounded by wild kangaroos, flaming galahs flew over the grounds, and possums lived in the walls! It's an enchanting place to get away from...everything.
