Welcome to Samuel Hodder Photography
Mornington Peninsula
Mornington Peninsula stretches south of Melbourne, curving round west to almost enclose Port Philip. It's a mostly rural place beloved for its beaches, quiet coves, hot springs and many vineyards.
Some of these photos were taken in Point Nepean National Park, which is at the very tip of the peninsula, beyond the sailing town of Sorrento. For many years Point Nepean was home to a sprawling quarantine station and cadet camp, now closed and mostly deserted. When we were there a small croquet match was taking place on the former parade ground.
